Tacoma Foreclosures are often the best opportunity for a first time home buyer, move up buyer or real estate investor to pick up a Tacoma home at below market prices. These homes range from "tear down" condition all the way up to absolutely pristine view homes needing zero work to reach "move in ready" status.
Generally, you'll find good discounts in the $200,000 and under price category. In our experience, we've seen some really nice deals in this price range, but competition can be brutal. If you are in search of a well priced Tacoma home under $200,000 expect competition for the home. This, by the way, is an excellent argument for hiring your own buyer's agent. When competition gets tough and every aspect of the contract is crucial, a highly skilled buyer's agent can make the difference between the one that got away and the deal of a lifetime. For move up buyers and investors, the $200,000 and up price range offers the largest discounts in the real estate market. Due to the lack of "move up buyers" these homes have seen the largest drop in list prices over the past few years. If you have the financial ability to purchase in this price range, you'll find limited competition and a large selection of homes to choose from. If you are looking for a salt water view home, large estate or a top floor penthouse, this is your market!
